How to reach
Ayodhya is well-connected by rail to major cities like Lucknow, Kanpur and Varanasi. It does not have an airport but it is connected by road to Lucknow. For those of you who are planning to go Ayodhya here is how to reach Ayodhya:
By air: The nearest airport to Ayodhya is the Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport in Lucknow which is located 50 km west from the town. The Lucknow Airport is connected with the major cities in India by regular flights. After reaching the airport, you can take a taxi that can take you directly to Ayodhya.
By rail: Ayodhya is well connected to nearby railway stations and major stations throughout north India. It is well connected to Delhi, Lucknow, Kanpur, Varanasi, Gorakhpur and Gonda. The Ayodhya (AY) railway station is less than 2 km away from the city centre. Here is a list of trains between New Delhi and Ayodhya. From the station, you can hire a cab that can take you to the city centre.
By road: Services of Uttar Pradesh Transport Corporation (UPTC) buses are available 24 hours a day and it is very easy to reach here from all places. Ayodhya is around 130 km. from Lucknow, 200 km from Varanasi, 160 km from Prayagraj, 140 km from Gorakhpur and about 636 km from Delhi. Frequent buses are also available from Varanasi, Prayagraj and other places as per their schedule.
