The Indian Railway has decided to run 4 additional trains between one of the busiest routes in its network. Railway Ministry under the leadership of Piyush Goyal has decided to start the service of Gorakhpur Mumbai line from 11th April, 2021 onwards.
Central Railway has made the decision to reopen this route to aid the railway passengers who have suffered many disturbances due to halting of many railway routes and services after the Covid-19 outbreak.
Train Timings and Stoppage
The train 05178 Mumbai LTT Gorakhpur Summer Special will depart from its base station Lokmanya Tilak Terminal (LTT) at 11:10 am and will reach the destination station Gorakhpur Jn (GKP) at 05:00 pm on the next day. On the return journey, the train 05177 Gorakhpur Mumbai LTT Summer Special will depart from its base station Gorakhpur Jn (GKP) at 07:00 pm and will reach the destination station Lokmanya Tilak Terminal (LTT) at 04:20 am on the 3rd day. It will have stoppages at Kalyan, Nasik Road, Bhusaval, Khandwa, Itarsi, Bhopal, Bina, Jhansi, Orai, Kanpur Central, Aishbag, Gonda, Basti and Khalilabad.
The train 01105 Mumbai LTT Gorakhpur AC SF Special Fare Special will depart from its base station Lokmanya Tilak Terminal (LTT) at 00:45 am and will reach the destination station Gorakhpur Jn (GKP) at 08:05 pm on the next day. On the return journey, the train 01106 Gorakhpur Mumbai LTT AC SF Special Fare Special will depart from its base station Gorakhpur Jn (GKP) at 11:00 am and will reach the destination station Lokmanya Tilak Terminal (LTT) at 04:15 pm on the next day. It will have stoppages at Thane, Kalyan, Nasik Road, Bhusaval, Itarsi, Jabalpur, Prayagraj Chheoki, Varanasi, Mau and Bhatni.
Since the nationwide lockdown was declared last year in March, all regular passenger train services of Indian Railways remain suspended but since May 2020, special train services were started by the national transporter in a phased manner. As of now, 77 percent of Indian Railways’ mail, express trains are in service, 91 percent of suburban/local trains are running while only 20 percent of passenger trains are currently on tracks.
