The festival of Holi is fast approaching us and those who stay away from their family must be busy packing their bags to leave for their trip home. As the Holi will fall on March 28-29 this year, the crowd of passengers is expected to start travelling from the 2nd/3rd week of March.
Keeping that in mind the Indian Railways has announced special Holi special trains for various routes to ease the journey of those traveling back home. But since coronavirus cases are on the rise once again, passengers will have to be more careful and follow certain protocols instructed by the Ministry of Railways. These trains will run on a daily, bi-weekly, tri-weekly and weekly basis

Covid special Trains
Indian railways had suspended all passenger trains services due to the imposition of a nationwide lockdown from 25 March. However it resumed services in a staggered manner with shramik special trains to help stranded migrant workers reach their home states from 1 May. After that railway started fully air-conditioning rajdhani-like 30 COVID-19 special trains, 200 special trains and 80 new special trains.
