Kumbh Mela is about to begin and in view of the prevailing COVID-19 situation, Indian Railways has made adequate arrangements for the devotees to attend the festival with safety and in accordance with the laws. Railways does not operate train services on a state wise basis as the Railway network straddles across state boundaries however 12 pairs of Kumbh Mela Specials, which are in addition to the existing services bound for Haridwar, are being operated.
Besides, 15 pairs of trains bound for Haridwar, trains have also been augmented for generating additional accommodation for the pilgrims. However, passengers may avail suitable change over enroute at stations like Delhi for travelling to Haridwar.
Some of the major routes on which Indian Railways will run the Kumbh special train services are between Howrah-Dehradun-Howrah via Haridwar, Howrah-Yoganagri Rishikesh-Howrah, Patna-Kota-Patna. Here is the list of Kumbh Mela special trains.
Train no. 02369/02370 Kumbh Superfast Special - This train will run 5 days a week from Howrah except on Tuesday and Friday. In the return direction, train no. 02370 will run from Dehradun 5 days a week except on Wednesday and Saturday. The train will halt at Asansol, Madhopur, Jasidih, Jhajha, Jamui, Kiul, Mokama, Patna, Ara, Buxar, Dildarnagar, Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay Junction, Varanasi, Sultanpur, Nihalgarh, Lucknow, Bareilly, Moradabad, Luxor and Haridwar stations.
Train no. 02327/02328 Upasana SF Festival Special - This train will run from Howrah every Tuesday and Friday. In the return direction, train number 02328 will run from Dehradun on Wednesdays and Saturdays. It will halt at Asansol, Madhopur, Jasidih, Jhajha, Jamui, Kiul, Mokama, Patna, Ara, Buxar, Dildarnagar, Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay Junction, Varanasi, Sultanpur, Nihalgarh, Lucknow, Bareilly, Moradabad and Haridwar stations.
Train no. 03009/03010 Doon Festival Special - It will also be operated by Indian Railways till April 30. In the return direction, train number 03010 will run from Yoganagri Rishikesh till May 2. The train will halt at Serampore, Chandannagar, Bundel, Bardhaman, Panagarh, Durgapur, Raniganj, Asansol, Badakar, Dhanbad, Gomoh, Parasnath, Hazaribagh Road, Parsabad, Tilhar, Rampur, Moradabad, Pitambarpur, Bareilly, Nagaria Sadat, Sihora, Dhampur, Nagina, Najibabad, Luxor, Haridwar and Haridwar stations.
Train no 03239 Patna Kota Special - It will run from Patna from 11:11 AM to 11:45 AM every Monday and Friday till advance notice. En route, the train will halt at Danapur, Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay Junction, Varanasi, Sultanpur, Bihta, Ara, Buxar, Jamania, Nihalgarh, Lucknow, Kanpur Central, Tundla, Agra Cantt, Mathura Junction, Hindaun City, Gangapur City, Bharatpur Junction, Bayana, Sawai Madhopur and Indragarh stations.
