India is still reeling under a devastating 2nd wave of the novel Coronavirus. The deadly global pandemic has changed the lives of almost every individual in some capacity or another. Although the raw numbers of the positive cases seem to have peaked in the ongoing 2nd wave, the fear and psychosis still remains intact and the need to remain vigilant and careful is as paramount as ever.
To ease the burden of the railway passengers in these trying times of Covid-19 and with a view to meet the travel demand, Western Railways division has decided to extend the trips of special trains between Mumbai and Jabalpur.
Train Timings and Stoppages
The trips of the train 02133 Bandra Terminus Jabalpur Festival Special has been extended and now it will also run from 5th June to 31st July, 2021. It departs from its base station Mumbai Bandra Terminus(BDTS) at 05:20 PM and arrives at the destination station Jabalpur (JBP) at 03:10 PM on the next day. This train will have stoppages at Borivali, Vapi, Surat, Vadodara Jn, Ratlam Jn, Ujjain Jn, Bhopal Jn, Hoshangabad, Itarsi Jn, Pipariya and Narsinghpur.
The return journey train 02134 Jabalpur Bandra Terminus Festival Special has also been extended and now it will also run from 4th June to 30st July, 2021. It departs from its base station Jabalpur (JBP) at 05:00 PM arrives at the destination station Mumbai Bandra Terminus(BDTS) 02:10 PM on the next day. Enroute this train will halt at Narsinghpur, Pipariya, Itarsi Jn, Hoshangabad, Bhopal Jn, Ujjain Jn, Ratlam Jn, Vadodara Jn, Surat, Vapi and Borivali.
Indian Railway is restoring its passenger train services to almost pre-pandemic levels, provided the pandemic gets under control with the number of cases coming down and all the necessary approvals are given by the concerned state governments along with the nod of the Railway Ministry. These trains are also likely to be special trains only and not regular passenger services. All regular passenger train services of Indian Railways were suspended when a nationwide lockdown was declared last year in March but since May 2020 special train services were started by the national transporter in a phased manner.
