After nearly six months of complete shutdown the hotel industry in Kullu-Manali is all set to open for tourists from October 01, 2020. All the travel addicts would now be able to visit their favourite places in Himachal Pradesh again! Over 2,000 hotels, resorts, homestays and guest houses in Kullu-Manali have decided to reopen for business with stringent SoPs (Standard Operating Procedure) to welcome guests.
The state government will make the necessary arrangements to make every tourist feel safe as the arrival of tourists is expected to rise soon after the announcement of this decision. All the hotel owners and the staff needs to prepare themselves in terms of sanitation and availability of proper equipment for the staff and the guests when they check-in. Tourists travelling to hill stations such as Shimla, Dharamshala, McLeodganj, Kullu-Manali and Dalhousie will be able to book their stays by the end of September.
As per the President of Manali Hoteliers Association the hotel staff will be fully trained and equipped with masks and gloves to serve the guests. A COVID care centre will also be set up in Kullu-Manali for any emergency purposes. Additionally the tourism department will also launch a campaign to educate the people working in the tourism industry like restaurant owners, cafes or dhaba and cab drivers in the state. Through this campaign the hospitality sector employees will get to know on how to run their business safely in the midst of the pandemic.

According to the new SoPs (Standard Operating Procedure) the mandatory stay has been reduced to 2 days instead of 5 days. Previously the Himachal Pradesh government had set up a rule to stay for a minimum of 5 days.

No COVID-19 test is required for children below 10 years of age. While the negative test reports carried by the adults can be upto 96 hours old. Earlier it was a 72 hours window.
