IRCTC Special Tourist train for Buddhism Tourism

The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has announced a Bharat darshan Special tourist train that will cover the four most famous Buddhist destinations of our country, like Bodhgaya, Varanasi, Lumbini, Kushinagar and many more. So the first leg of this tour package will commence from 15th January 2022 and will go on till 25th March 2023. According to the package who are opting for the Lord Buddha travel destination package will be able to board and deboard the train from Bodhgaya, Nalanda, Varanasi, Lumbini, Kushinagar and Agra.

As per the official information by IRCTC, the price for the AC 2-Tier class is Rs. 72,030 per person, while for the first class (cabin), it is Rs. 88,060 per person and the price for the first class (coupe) is Rs. 99,500 per person. However, booking is free for children who are below 5 years. But children who are above 5 years will be charged as per the adult fare.

Following are the Package Items which are included:

1. Hall/Dharmashala Accommodation
2. Pure vegetarian meals.
3. Tourist buses for visiting sightseeing spots.
4. Tour escorts for announcements and information.
5. Security arrangements for each coach (without arms).
6. An IRCTC Official on the train as Train Superintendent.
7. Non AC road transfers on sharing basis.
8. Travel insurance

Following are the Package Items that are excluded:

1. Items of personal nature i.e. laundry, medicines.
2. Entry fees for monuments.
3. Service of Tour Guide.

Other Information:

It further informed that the Leave Travel Concession (LTC) will be issued for the tourists who avail of the Bharat Darshan tour after the completion of the tour. The LTC would include only the train fare and Road transfers. Travellers need to bring pillows, bedsheets, nylon rope for drying clothes, a lock, and a key with a chain to secure luggage, a bucket with mug, torch Light, umbrella, medicines, plates, glass, etc, IRCTC said. Additionally, the passengers also must carry any identity card (like a Driving License, Voter ID Card, Aadhaar Card, Pan Card) as proof of Identity for cross verification.
