Due to operational and maintenance-related work, the Indian Railways have canceled around 160 trains on Wednesday. According to an update posted by the railways on its official IRCTC website, 39 of the 124 trains that were supposed to depart on August 24 were only partially canceled. The railways, meanwhile, rescheduled seven trains and redirected ten others. Trains are frequently canceled, rescheduled, and diverted by the railway department owing to a variety of factors, such as inclement weather, maintenance, and technical and operational tasks.
For the convenience of the public, the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) publishes listings of various trains every day. The list of canceled, postponed, redirected, or partially canceled trains should therefore always be kept up to date by regular travelers.
