In preparation for the Ganpati festival in September 2023, the Central Railways has officially stated that they will be running a total of 226 Ganpati Special trains in segments. Excitingly, travellers can secure their seats as the bookings started on June 27.
As the Ganpati festival approaches in September and October, the railway authorities have started to run special trains between Mumbai and multiple locations in Konkan to manage the significant number of passengers expected to travel during this period.

In this press release, the Central Railway announced the service of 156 special trains amid the Ganpati Festival.
Mumbai-Sawantwadi Road Daily Special
- Train number 01171 It will leave Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus Mumbai at 12:20 AM daily from September 13 to October 2 (20 Trips). It will arrive at Sawantwadi Road at 02:20 PM the same day.
- Train number 01172 will leave Sawantwadi Road at 03:10 PM daily from September 13 to October 2 (20 Trips). It will arrive at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus Mumbai at 04:35 AM the next day.
Halts
The train will have a halt at Dadar, Thane, Panvel, Mangaon, Veer, Khed, Chiplun, Sawarda, Aravali Road, Sangameshwar Road, Ratnagiri, Adavali, Vilavade, Rajapur Road, Vaibhavwadi Road, Nandgaon Road, Kankavali, Sindhudurg and Kudal.
LTT-KUDAL Special
- Train number 01167 will leave Lokmanya Tilak Terminus (LTT) at 10:15 PM on September 13, 14, 19, 20, 21, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28 and on October 1 and 2 (12 trips). It will arrive Kudal at 09:30 AM the next day.
- Train number 01168 will leave Kudal at 10:30 AM on September 14, 15, 20, 21, 22, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29 and on October 2 and 3 (12 Trips). It will arrive at Lokmanya Tilak Terminus (LTT) at 09:55 PM the same day.

- Train number 01169 will leave Pune at 18.45 hrs on September 15, 22 and 29 and will arrive in Kudal at 10.00 hrs the next day.
- Train number 01170 will leave Kudal at 16.05 hrs on September 17, 24 and October 1 and will arrive Pune at 05.50 hrs the next day.

In this press release, the Central Railways has announced 52 additional special trains to cater for the surge in demands. This consists of 36 MEMU Special train services between Diva-Chiplun and 16 more Special train services between Mumbai –Mangaluru.
Diva-Chiplun MEMU Special Services – 36 trips
- 01155 MEMU will leave Diva at 07:45 PM daily from 13.09.2023 to 19.09.2023 and from 22.09.2023 to 02.10.2023. It will arrive at Chiplun at 01:25 AM the next day.
- 01156 MEMU will leave Chiplun at 01:00 PM daily from 14.09.2023 to 20.09.2023 and from 23.09.2023 to 03.10.2023 and will arrive Diva at 07:00 PM same day.
