The grand festival of democracy that comes after every 5 years is around the corner. Yes, you guessed it right, it is general election time. The schedule of general election has been announced by the election commission of India.
Voting Schedule for General Election 2024
The voting in the largest democracy of the world for the general election is divided in 7 phases. In which, 22 states and UTs will undergo voting in just one poll day. However, Jammu and Kashmir, will vote on five poll dates. Whereas, states like Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and West Bengal will conduct voting in all seven phases.
Voting of Phase 1 - 19 April 2024
- The voting for phase 1 will be held on Friday 19 April 2024. In this phase, the voting will happen in 102 constituencies of 21 states.
Voting of Phase 2 - 26 April 2024
- The voting for phase 2 will be held on Friday 26 April 2024. In this phase, the voting will happen in 89 constituencies electionof 13 states.
Voting of Phase 3 - 07 May 2024
- The voting for phase 3 will be held on Tuesday 07 May 2024. In this phase, voting will happen in 94 constituencies of 12 states.
Voting of Phase 4 - 13 May 2024
- The voting for phase 4 will be held on Monday 13 May 2024. In this phase, the voting will happen in 96 constituencies of 10 states.
Voting of Phase 5 - 20 May 2024
- The voting for phase 5 will be held on Monday 20 May 2024. In this phase, the voting will happen in 49 constituencies of 8 states.
Voting of Phase 6 - 25 May 2024
- The voting for phase 6 will be held on Sunday 25 May 2024. In this phase, the voting will happen in 57 constituencies of 7 states.
Voting of Phase 7 - 01 June 2024
- The voting for phase 7 will be held on Saturday 01 June 2024. In this phase, the voting will happen in 57 constituencies of 8 states.
