On January 22, 2024, a dream of millions of Hindus will come true, as the idol of Lord Ram will be installed in the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, his birthplace.
The construction of the temple is going on in full swing, and is expected to be completed soon.
The temple will be a magnificent structure, with a height of 161 feet, a length of 360 feet, and a width of 235 feet. It will have five domes, 212 pillars, and 360 statues of various Hindu deities. The temple will also have a museum, a library, a research center, and a food court.
The consecration ceremony of the idol, known as Pran Pratishtha, will take place on January 22, 2024. It will be preceded by several rituals and events. The ceremonies will start from January 15 and continue till January 22.
Ram Mandir Schedule (January 15-22, 2024)
- January 15, 2024: On this day, the idol of Lord Ram, in his child form, will be installed in the sanctum sanctorum.
- On January 16, 2024, the ceremonies for the consecration of Lord Ram will start.
- On January 17, 2024, the idol of Lord Ram will be carried around the city in a procession.
- On January 18, 2024, the rites for the infusion of life force (Prana-Pratishtha) will commence, involving pujas such as Mandap entry, Vastu, Varun, Vighnaharta Ganesha, and Martika.
- On January 19, 2024, the Yajna fire pit will be set up in the Ram Mandir, and a special rite will ignite the holy fire.
- On January 20, 2024, 81 kalashas filled with water from different rivers will be used to purify the innermost shrine of the Ram Mandir. A Vastu Shanti rite will be conducted.
- On January 21, 2024, Lord Ram will receive a divine bath with 125 kalashas during the Yajna ceremony, which will also include various pujas and havans.

The final day, January 22, 2024, will witness the main event, Prana Pratishtha. A grand puja for Lord Ram will be held at midday, during the Mrigashira Nakshatra.
