To prevent the spread of the COVID-19 virus, Indian Railways has developed contactless cubicles for doctors and medical professionals to treat the COVID-19 patients. With the help of this new innovation, doctors would be able to treat coronavirus infected patients without coming in direct contact with them. It is an innovative way to tackle the spread of the deadly disease as doctors were getting infected by the coronavirus even after taking the preventive measures.
Over the last few days, there have been instances of doctors treating patients of COVID-19, catching the infection and this way the threat of spreading the novel Coronavirus is compounded. The transparent contactless cubicle developed by Hubballi Workshop can be used by doctors to remain isolated with the patient, protecting them from catching the COVID-19 infection.
After each medical test, gloves that are protruding out of the cubicle would be changed and the exterior, as well as the interior of the chamber, would be sanitized. The transparent cubicle to treat COVID-19 patients would safeguard all the doctors and nurses, who are fighting against the novel coronavirus pandemic. The total number of coronavirus cases in India jumped to 23220 while the death toll spiked to 725. If you want to know more about the coronavirus outbreak in India check live COVID-19 updates.
In addition to this Indian Railways Coach Rehabilitation in Bhopal has designed a “mobile doctor booth” named CHARAK. This booth facilitates not only zero-contact check-ups in light of the ongoing global pandemic but also ensures the safety of doctors and medical professionals. The booth can be easily taken to hinterlands or rural areas & can be moved within the 500 m area by hand transport. Besides CHARAK is an economical and low-cost viral barrier for doctors treating COVID-19 patients. Since the lockdown has been extended until May 3, the Indian Railways has also said that full refund would be given even to those passengers who have cancelled their advance bookings of tickets for trains that were cancelled. In case there has been any deduction of such cancellations, passengers would get full refund within some days.
Apart from this the railway board is also providing 10000 rail neer water bottles everyday to the Delhi Police personnel. To support the frontline warriors like policemen who are working round the clock, the catering arm of railways IRCTC is distributing water bottles to policemen. Till now more than 50000 water bottles have been distributed. It can be noted that Indian Railways is working relentlessly to help people across the country during the nationwide lockdown.
